Leon says

Prerequisite for the guide to be applicable
- knowledge of different catergories of drowning victims
- knowledge and skills of different entries
- knowledge and skills of different rescue techniques
- fitness for the rescue

IMPORTANT!!!
The guide is afterall just a guide, means that there may be some situations which requires the lifesaver to NOT follow the guide. That is why there is a test item called initiative, means decide what to do on your own.
Example
Weak swimmer at the edge of the pool 5m from you, non-swimmer (means most likely at the edge of the pool) 15m from you.
Reach out for the weak swimmer first. In this case, you do not follow the guide which says that a non-swimmer has to be rescued first.

This cases are rare but still possible to come out for your exams.

The guide was written by Leon!
It is simplified, summarised and edited.
Included examples to allow better understanding.
LOL can write book liao..
